About

My name is Aidan Rogers and I am a recent UCF graduate with a passion for Data Analysis. I found a love for data analysis when I took the Google Data Analytics Certification while I was trying to explore possible career options. I enjoy every aspect of working with data, whether that be cleaning, analyzing, or presenting it. I often utilize my skills in Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau to support my data analysis process.

I have gained pratical experience with data analytics over the years. First, I interned with the USDA in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) where I worked as a data analyst on various projects using Python and Tableau. After my internship with the USDA I began interning and now working full time at Florida Blue under the Commercial Analytics Enablement team. I work on data validation using SQL and take on the role of tester on various projects. I hope to bring the data analytics skills I have honed with my personal projects and experience to any work I take on.

I am passionate about data analysis but outside of that, my other passions include dogs, guitar/bass, and video games

Identifying the Connection Between Income and Elementary School Outcomes with GIS

A project analyzing the link between low-income communities and poor standardized test results in those communities

“Do low-income communities have a greater proportion of elementary schools with poor educational outcomes?” With this question in mind, I sought to find where elementary schools with poor-quality education are in Orange County, FL, find if there is a correlation between low-income communities and poor educational outcomes, and find what areas only have access to elementary schools with poor-quality educational outcomes. Analysis in this project showed that schools that had low pass rates on the English and Math standardized exams were located in low-income areas while schools with high pass rates were in wealthier areas of the county.

Taylor Swift Spotify Data Analysis

A project analyzing the Spotify data of Taylor Swift

A personal project I wanted to work on to find statistical trends in Taylor Swift's music and to demonstrate my skills in data analysis. I worked with datasets in Kaggle that have quantitative Spotify data on Taylor Swift's music. I specifically wanted to see how the different sonic qualities present in Taylor Swift's albums impact their popularity. I used Excel, R, SQL, and Tableau to analysis and present this data. I also used techniques such as descriptive statistics and linear regression.

Google Data Analytics Capstone: Cyclistic

A capstone data analysis project

My final capstone project for the Google Data Analytics Certification. I tackled a sample set of data from a fictional bike sharing and went through all of the steps of the data analysis process with it: ask, prepare, process, analyze, share, and act. I utilized Excel, PostgreSQL, R, Power BI, and PowerPoint to work with over 5 million rows of data to clean, analyze, and present it in a comprehensible manner.
